Kyra Taylor

Kyra Taylor, a New Castle, PA native, is a proud graduate of Edinboro University, where she earned her
BA in History with a minor in Women’s Studies and Art History. Trained in the Sanctuary Model, Kyra has
served as a Behavior Counselor with Sarah Reed Childrens’ Center and Corrections Counselor at the Erie
County Prison, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact within her community.

Despite her many accomplishments, Kyra remains humble and prefers to work behind the scenes,
quietly driving change and empowerment. She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a
community service-driven organization, and her commitment to serving her community began in middle
school. At just 17 years old, Kyra served as a Production Assistant for the Telly Award-winning film “Tangy’s
Song”. This remarkable film delved into the life of a black woman diagnosed with HIV and examined the
profound impact of HIV on the black community.

Kyra’s passion for helping others led her to become a certified Life Coach through the Case Western
Weatherhead School of Business, equipping her with the skills to guide and empower individuals to
reach their fullest potential. As the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Erie’s Black Wall Street, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Kyra Taylor embodies the organization’;s mission to serve as a vehicle for change and empowerment in
Erie’s Black community. Her mantra in life has always been, “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

Kyra’s commitment to creating a culture of Black excellence and wealth in Erie inspires generations to come. Her dedication
to community service, her academic achievements, and her professional experiences all come together to shape a compassionate advocate for positive change.
