ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for an evening celebrating Voices of History, a community-driven project that amplifies the oral histories of Black Pennsylvanians. This special event marks the culmination of a journey that began at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, where we launched the initiative by hosting Isabel Wilkerson, renowned author and historian, who discussed the vital importance of preserving these stories for present and future generations.
Through partnerships with Erie’s Black Wall Street and the heartfelt participation of community members, we’ve transformed powerful oral histories into short films that honor the resilience, culture, and contributions of Erie’s Black community. Special thank you to Erie Insurance for their generous support.
